 Technically, Versatile Building Products Lava Flow Metallics is an interior grade, multi-component, 100% solids high gloss decorative epoxy floor coating system. It’s a single-coat product with the metallic pigment integral to the epoxy itself. 4750 is based on our industrial grade 4800 series epoxy and does not require a separate top coat. Tools required for application are small 12” to 18” round pool trowel, 1/16th” tooth trowel , metal or “magic “ squeegee or paint roller. Pump sprayer for dispersing agent (Denatured Alcohol). After surface has been completed, begin applying the 4750 Lava Flow using any of the above mentioned applications tools. Paint roller & notched trowel will yield a more uniform look and the pool trowel or squeegee will give a much more mottled or flowing appearance. We recommend test samples be made to find the desired effect. Apply the 4750 at a spread rate of 100 sq ft per gallon & begin back spraying the area with denatured alcohol. This can be done very light or heavy, again depending on the desired effect. A light spray will yield a more uniform effect. A heavier back spray will create a more sporadic or cratering effect on the surface. (Large droplets of denatured alcohol will create very large craters).
Note: If the back spray or use of denatured alcohol, gives you an undesirable effect, simply retrowel or squeegee the surface area again. You will have 15 -20 minutes to make these corrective steps, so that another back spray can be done. $157.90 |
